At Disney, they had this deodorizing spray (think Febreze, but of the sort that is sold in bulk directly from the factory.) It was called something like “Ocean Breeze.” …Something like that. Anyway, anything fabric-esque that got used on a daily basis but couldn’t be thrown in the washing machine would simply be doused in that stuff…which was not always a good idea.
Protip: when applying to refrigerator box-like apparatuses, one should refrain from immediately placing said apparatus over one’s entire upper body. For 25 minutes. Should Ocean Breeze be sprayed inside a refrigerator box-like apparatus and then placed said apparatus over one’s entire upper body for 25 minutes, it is recommended that you refrain from doing so a second time. Or a third. Also, you should probably call poison control.
I never really looked that closely at the bottle (obviously–I can’t even really remember what the stuff was called)–but I imagine that, somewhere under the long list of eldritch and terrifying sounding ingredients with six syllables, it bears this notice in bold letters:
MANUFACTURER’S WARNING: Use sparingly. Avoid contact with the five foot radius of your body. Trust us, it will not make things better. Did we already mention that a little goes a long way? Seriously, I’m not sure how we’re all still even alive, working in this Ocean Breeze factory all day. I mean, all the residents within a five mile radius complain of strange, Ocean Breeze-scented weather anomalies. Our lunches taste like Ocean, and also like Breeze, even if we BRING THEM FROM HOME. There was that one time that Patrick retired and we threw him a 70th birthday party five years later and he STILL SMELLED LIKE OCEAN BREEZE and that other time Jennifer sprayed it on her cat by accident and it started growing these little purple…
Ahem.
Discontinue if rash appears, vomiting occurs, or hallucinations begin shouting in Esperanto.
I told you all of that to tell you this:
Every single hotel room I have been in since my time at Disney has smelled like Ocean Breeze.
Every.
Single.
One.
