Conversation behind me at a stoplight:
“They scheduled a huge chunk of my calendar for it! From, like, 4:00 onwards!”
“Yeah, that’s just how it is at Performics.”
“But…I just started!”
“That’s why it’s a good thing, really. Pushing the beer cart around is the best way to meet everybody. You’re lucky, actually, I had to wait two months before I got scheduled.”
“But it’s just the end of my second week!”
“Yeah, I mean, it’s a little awkward, ’cause you have to ask total strangers if they want a beer. But trust me, it’s great for networking.”
“I want to get a bell, like an ice cream truck. Ding ding! Beer’s here!”
So many questions.
Does Performics list “periodic shifts as company beer cart vendor” on all its job postings under ‘job responsibilities’? Do they ask all applicants to have 3-5 years of bartending experience? Do people list ‘beer cart duty’ on their resumes/CVs/LinkedIn profiles? Does the CEO take a shift manning the beer cart, too? If so, how does that affect the volume of beer consumed?
…Are they hiring?
